Position Overview:
TM Aerial Inspections is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Mobile Heavy Equipment Inspector to join their team. In this role, you will travel to client sites to inspect, evaluate, and document the condition of equipment. You will ensure compliance with various OSHA safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry regulations, helping our clients maintain operational efficiency and avoid costly failures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other machinery.
- Assess mechanical, structural, and safety conditions to identify wear, defects, or needed maintenance.
- Create detailed inspection reports with photos and recommendations using digital tools.
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally with clients.
- Stay updated on OSHA regulations, manufacturer updates, and industry best practices.
- Travel, local and overnight, independently to job sites, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Maintain inspection equipment and vehicle in clean and working condition.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment inspection, repair, or operation.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills and communication skills.
- Proficient with inspection/reporting software, tablets, and mobile apps.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be submitted)
- Must possess the physical ability to independently navigate job sites and safely climb onto and dismount various heavy equipment vehicles
- Must be willing and available to work weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized inspection/ equipment authority (NCCCO) or ability to obtain certification(s)
- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification.
- CDL Class A or B (if applicable for transport requirements)
- Hoisting License
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel with overnight stays mostly throughout New England and the Tri State areas
- Work is conducted in various outdoor and industrial environments, often subject to varying weather conditions and job site hazards
- Work will involve but not limited to bending, lifting, climbing, standing and driving for extended periods
